Introduction

The Blue Water Association (BWA) is a youth-led environmental organization dedicated to sustainable water management, environmental protection, and climate action. Founded in January 2024 in Kabul, Afghanistan, BWA works to empower children, women, youth, and communities to address the urgent challenges of climate change and environmental degradation. We believe that informed, engaged communities—especially young people—are key to building a sustainable future. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, BWA raises environmental awareness, strengthens local capacities, and promotes community-driven solutions for water conservation and climate resilience. Our work focuses on protecting natural ecosystems, encouraging responsible water use, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. By supporting youth leadership and inclusive participation, the Blue Water Association aims to create lasting environmental impact across Afghanistan and beyond—for today’s communities and future generations.
